A B-Line Smart Card is a reloadable plastic card with a QR code that works on all B-Line buses. Think of it like a gift card for transit - you load money on it, then scan it when you board.

How Do I get a Smart Card?

Visit us in person:

  • Chico Transit Center Kiosk - Corner of W. 2nd & Salem Streets, Chico | Monday-Friday, 8:30am-12pm & 12:30pm-5pm
  • B-Line Customer Service Office - 326 Huss Drive, Suite 125, Chico, CA 95928 | Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
  • BCAG Office - 326 Huss Drive, Suite 150, Chico, CA 95928 | Monday-Friday 9am-3pm

  • Call 530-809-4616 and we'll mail you one
HOW DO I EXCHANGE AN OLD PAPER PASS?

Have an old paper pass without a QR code? Bring it to either location (or mail it to our customer service office) and we'll load the value onto a new smart card at no charge.

HOW DO I RELOAD A SMART CARD OR CHECK MY SMART CARD BALANCE?

Online: Visit the Token Transit Smart Card Look-up Page 

By phone: Call 530-809-4616 (you'll need the code on the back of your card)

In person: Visit any location above during business hours

HOW DO I USE MY SMART CARD?
  1. Board the bus through the front door
  2. Hold your smart card up to the Token Transit validator (the tall gray device near the driver)
  3. Wait for the green checkmark and "Fare Paid" message
  4. Take your seat and enjoy your ride!

ARE FARES ON A SMART CARD THE SAME AS THE OLD PAPER PASSES?

YES!!

Local: $2.00
Regional: $3.00
Discount (Seniors 62+, Youth, Veterans, Disabled): $1.00-$1.50
All Day Pass: $6.00
